The Association

The Friends of the Segovia Mint Association was founded on November 5, 1993 and duly registered in the Gobierno Civil de Segovia with the number 990 on November 9, 1993. The primary purposes of the Association are the following:

  • To increase public awareness of the historic and present-day importance of the Segovia Mint.
  • To promote the restoration and conservation of the building and its surrounding property.
  • To promote the creation of a numismatic museum and artisan medallic production facility as the adaptive re-utilization of the historic building.
  • To promote the study and investigation of all aspects related to the social and industrial function of the Mint and its coinage.

The Association's membership is composed of people with a variety of interests: numismatics, historic preservation, industrial archaeology, and water wheel technology, just to mention a few. We invite all interested persons or organizations to become members.
