Coinage

A variety of gold, silver, and copper coins and medals were produced in Segovia, at various mint locations,  from 20 B.C. up until 1868, when all minting activities were finally consolidated in Madrid.
Category A

enlace As a Roman colony (300 B.C. - 400 A.D.)
enlace Period of the Reconquest (1126 - 1454)

Exact mint location unknown. No coins are known to have been struck in Segovia during the reign of the Visigoths (414 - 711 A.D.) or during the Moorish occupation of this part of Spain (714 - 1126).



Category B

enlace The Old Segovia Mint (1455 - 1681)

Mint located in the walled portion of the city; no structure exists today. Aqueduct mintmark.



Category C

enlace The Royal Mill Mint (1586 - 1868)

Mint located by the Eresma River; structure remains today. Aqueduct mintmark.
