General Assembly Meeting

On March 11, 1999 the Association held its annual General Assembly. The meeting took place at 7:15 pm in the conference hall at the Real Academia de Historia y Arte de San Quirce, in Segovia. It was followed by a conference at 8:00 pm given by Dr. Rafael Feria y Pérez, Director of the Madrid Mint Museum, of the Mint Foundation, and President of the Spanish Committee of the International Council of Museums. The conference - titled "Monetary Museums: a Reflection of Society" - was open to the general public and enjoyed by a large turn out.

Motions approved include the creation of a special category for honorary members and memberships for institutions. Members were thanked for their support, and a special thanks went out to our friends at AFINSA for their sponsorship, which makes possible many activities such as this web site. María Isabel Alvarez González was elected new Vice President, Juan Francisco Saez Pajares the new Treasurer, and Carmen Diego de Zori as new spokeswoman. Glenn Murray continues as President, Juan Pedro Velasco Sayago as Secretary, and Juan Ignacio Davia San José as spokesman.
